After a 2-0 lead, India became
the only team to lose the ODI series (five or more matches) twice. Virat Kohli Surrendered, Australia down India in Five ODI series.
Australia won a comfortable fifth
victory in New Delhi on Wednesday, and in almost all divisions held a five-game
ODI series 3-2 compared to India.
They were counter attacked after
becoming 0-2 in the series, and it was a superb performance. This victory will
give them a big boost in front of the World Cup.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli
& Co got no good news after this defeat, India became the only side that
lost the ODI series (5 matches or more) on two occasions leading by 2-0.
The previous example was back
when they took a 2-0 lead against Pakistan in 2005, but lost the six matches
series by 2-4.
By the way, Australia was the
last visiting country to win India in three consecutive ODI games. They went to
Mohali, Hyderabad and Guwahati on November 2nd, 5th and 8th, 2009,
respectively.
Usman Khawaja made his two
centuries in three matches as Australia thumped India by 35 runs in their last
one day to seal Australia's 3-2 Series victory at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium
on Wednesday.
The opener Khawaja led Australia
to 272-9 with 100 runs.
Adam Zampa (3-46) and his fellow
bowlers were then for exactly 237 over 50 to record their third consecutive win
as Australia overcame the 0-2 Series deficit.
